Sister Carol Keehan: you knew he was a snake

Some naifs claim surprise that Obama would "rule" that the provision of free contraception and abortifacients, no matter how morally repugnant, would be required of religious establishments, and that religious liberty, or liberties of any kind, are being snatched by this presidency.
Andrew McCarthy at NRO asks why everyone is so shocked when they should have known who Obama was when they hired him:
What I personally find most offensive about the HHS mandate is the shock with which it has been met. Why? This is who Barack Obama is. There is no reason to be surprised by this. He is not being pulled to extremes by his base — he is the one doing the pulling.
Obama’s abortion extremism is such that, as a state legislator, he opposed protection for — I’ll use his words here — “that fetus, or child — however way you want to say describe it” when, contrary to the wishes of the women involved and their abortionists, there was “movement or some indication that, in fact, they’re not just coming out limp and dead.” Babies were inconveniently being born alive, self-styled health-care providers carted them off to utility rooms where they would be left to die. That is infanticide, plain and simple. In Illinois, people tried to stop this barbarism by supporting “born alive” legislation. Barack Obama fought them all the way.
There wasn’t any question about what was happening. The abortions were going wrong. The babies weren’t cooperating. They wouldn’t die as planned. Or, as Illinois state senator Barack Obama so touchingly put it, there was “movement or some indication that, in fact, they’re not just coming out limp and dead.”
So what did the Illinois legislator do to prevent the "Born Alive" legislation that would preserve the lives of aborted infants who have the misfortune of being not "limp and dead," but alive?
He voted against it, claiming that the issue was really about "abortion and not live births." The born alive child has no opportunity to disagree.
McCarthy's blog post is an excellent perspective on Obama's lack of consideration for Christians' moral underpinnings and certainly, for Obama's lack of concern for the unborn. Remember he doesn't want his daughters "punished with a baby." Baby as "punishment" is an interesting way to look at unplanned and/or careless pregnancy, especially when juxtaposed with the Great Unifier's encouragement that liberals have to "punish" their enemies, who are, of course, Republicans and/or anyone who doesn't agree with The Prince.
So why did the administration devise an "accommodation/compromise"? It's very simple, according to Deacon's Bench/the NY Times and had nothing to do with a self consciousness of intrusion into religious liberties:
Rather, the fight was for Sister Carol Keehan — head of an influential Catholic hospital group, who had supported President Obama’s health care law — and Catholic allies of the White House seen as the religious left. Sister Keehan had told the White House that the new rule, part of the health care law, went too far.
Mr. Obama announced that rather than requiring religiously affiliated charities and universities to pay for contraceptives for their employees, the cost would be shifted to health insurance companies. The initial rule caused a political uproar among some Catholics and others who portrayed it as an attack on religious freedom.
I have a question for AARP, the AMA, Sister Carol Keehan and the liberal left "religious" organizations.
How do you justify subjugating your "moral" and "religious" principles for political and financial benefit?
How can you claim to care for others and claim to be concerned about public welfare when you put first and foremost your own political power?
Do those religious and moral laws by which you guide your lives mean so little to you that you are willing to barter them or even drop them if you can exchange them for candy?
For these entities who now are concerned that Obamacare will cost a fortune that the country cannot afford, that Obamacare will take away the right of physician choice, that Obamacare will force the public into government insurance (which was the plan all along), that those who think abortion is murder will be forced to pay for it, that maybe even YOU will end up getting burned by the two faced crowd running this show.
  What.
Did you think only WE were going to get screwed, not you?
You may think you've won this round by accepting a phony "accommodation" by overlooking that abortifacients will be provided "free" by insurance companies.
But it's just a matter of time until you get screwed too. You may be part of the cabal to overthrow the freedoms of this country now.
  But you should remember something.
You nourished this viper in your bosom.
When you too are bitten, don't be surprised.
After all, you knew who he really was all along. It was all in the record.
  It's no surprise.
